Si pensa, ma non si dice

"Le dichiarazioni di Dean sull'Iraq sono ancora più insensate dei suoi urli dopo la sconfitta ai caucus in Iowa: in entrambi i casi, si tratta di uscite disinformate e inutili". Il deputato democratico della Georgia, Jim Marshall, è durissimo. Ma non è il solo, secondo il Washington Post, a temere che le posizioni ultra-pacifiste espresse recentemente da Howard Dean e Nancy Pelosi possano danneggiare il partito democratico nel suo tentativo di riconquistare il controllo del Congresso alle elezioni di mid-term del prossimo anno. La storia, stancamente, si ripete: la deriva estremista dei Democratici è ormai un dato di fatto, ma - quando le elezioni si avvicinano - il partito che fu di JFK non può permettersi di rendere troppo pubbliche le proprie idee. Se dicono quello che pensano, rischiano di perdere fino al 2050.

"Dean's take on Iraq makes even less sense than the scream in Iowa: Both are uninformed and unhelpful". Rep. Jim Marshall (D-Ga.) is very harsh, but according to the Washington Post, he is not the only Democrat to fear that his leaders' rhetorical blasts could harm efforts to win control of Congress next year. History repeats itself: Democrats' positions shifted to the extreme left, that's a fact, but when elections are near, they can't affort to make their ideas too public. If they say what they really think, the risk is to loose elections until 2050.
