John Hughes (1950-2009)

Sceneggiatore, produttore e regista. I suoi film hanno segnato un'epoca e influenzato più di quanti non siano disposti ad ammetterlo, dalle parti di Hollywood. Non ha mai vinto premi prestigiosi, perché i suoi film erano “americanate” (un complimento, almeno per noi) pieni di risate, buoni sentimenti e lieto fine. Niente drammi introspettivi francesi con sottotitoli in bulgaro, insomma, ma pellicole per tutta la famiglia, spesso disprezzate dai critici (e adorate dal pubblico). Nel 1991, all'apice del successo, aveva abbandonato Hollywod per vivere nella sua fattoria nel nord dell'Illinois, continuando però a scrivere saltuariamente sceneggiature sotto lo pseudonimo di Edmond Dantes. Con John Hughes, scomparso all'età di 59 anni per un attacco di cuore, se n'è andato un pezzo - un grande pezzo - degli Anni Ottanta.
